Our final dynamic discussion of the academic year will be on Tuesday, May 21st from 7 to 8 PM. During this discussion, we will celebrate a productive year by having participants share their favorite task, math problem, lesson they have used during the course of year. We will talk about how it promoted student learning, how it might be used in different contexts, and how it might be modified/adjusted for future use. On Thursday, May 2nd, 15 students from UW Milwaukee and UW La Crosse presented their work on formative assessment, work with elementary students, and other topics at the Wisconsin Math Council Annual Conference in Greenlake. Here are some pictures of this awesome work.

We invite participants to consider and bring answers to the questions: What have you tried in terms of differentiation/remediation/intervention that has been successful? What has failed? (If you have examples you would like to share, you can email them to me in advance if you wish.)

On November 6th, WI-AMTE held its first new teacher gathering. Dr. Nathan Warnberg (UWL) led early career teachers in the “Exploding Dots Problems” over drinks and appetizers. Look for future events in La Crosse, Milwaukee, and Green Bay!
WI-AMTE and WMC are excited to be offering a book study on Catalyzing Change in High School Mathematics. Meetings will be held on Tuesdays in October from 4-5.
